Reporting for Griffon Training

09 Newkolt 349 AC AT SUMMERWALKER'S WAREHOUSE Shadow gathers Grotto’s armor and placed it in his bag of holding for safe keeping. With a nod to Romulus, the dark elf teleports back to the warehouse. It is late, well past midnight. Most of the elves he rescued alongside Ra’ziir, Kysek, and Raven are taking Reverie but a few of Lorraine's healers are circulating through the room, changing bandages or tending the fires that keep the warehouse warm. He finally finds Grotto asleep in his bedroll and gives him a nudge with his foot. "Ready for a surprise?" Grotto wakes from his slumber on his bed roll to find Shadow lurking above him. "Not tonight my friend, I have a headache. Plus, it is your turn to be bottom," quips the dwarf. Shadow lets out a quiet laugh and begins pulling pieces of armor from his bag. While he unloading the armor, Shadow will tells the dwarf about the Legend of Huma, the lances and the possibility of a tomb. Grotto is overjoyed at the ne...

Arthur and Agnes - City of Pashin

Image
08 Newkolt 349 AC Arthur looks around. "Yes, one night, preferably one with a private bathing chamber if that's possible. And something warm to eat, please." Arthur holds Agnes’s hand. "By any chance is there a potion shop in town?" The inn matron's eyes drift over to Captain Windsteed. The soldier steps forward, "I'm afraid that the potions we have are restricted to the city's defenders." "I completely understand, Captain, may I ask when was the last time you and your men had a proper feast?" The elf's brow furrows. "I suppose it would have been a week ago, at our celebration of the new year, just before the dragons attacked. Many of my men just returned from escorting our noncombatants to the capital, a six-day round trip through our forest." Arthur draws a bejeweled rod from his pack and concentrates. In less than a moment, a sumptuous feast appears on one of the inn's largwr tables. The wood groans under ...

Cedron and Raven at the River King's Court

Image
08 Newkolt 349 AC “Agreed!” Cedron nods respectfully to the knight and the squire. “And a good day to you both.” As he and Raven continue their journey. The treacherous and cold waters fall behind and the Green Knight disappears from view. Up ahead, sunlight sparkles on water, and suddenly the air echoes with splashing. A castle stands in the middle of the foaming river, built of pure white stone with six tall towers. A narrow passage leading in is not accessible from the riverbank; it seems to be flooded or perhaps made for boats. "I would have thought that they would have fixed that by now," Raven says as he looks at the gate. "I had to swim last time." “No need,” says Cedron as he activates his cloak. “Grab my arms and I’ll carry us across.” He says extending his arms for the elf to secure. Raven chuckles, "I suppose I should have abandoned any thoughts of dignity upon first being dragged in to dealing with faeries. He allows Cedron to lift him into the a...

Putting Plans in Motion

Image
08 Newkolt 349 AC AT WAYRETH TOWER Shadow gets a bit excited at the news of a possible burial place of Huma in Southern Ergoth. “That is a starting point, my friend.” He looks around. “I need to get a map to this Foghaven Vale. Seen the cartographer scribes?” Shadow looks around for assistants. “Do you think they will mind if I borrow that book?” He gestures to the 'Legend of Huma' before picking it up and opening it to a random page for a quick look before closing it and putting it in his bag of holding. “Spewer, you can read me a bedtime story later.”   He looks at Romulus and says, “They got a lot of dragons. If you think of anything or hear of anything that may aid us, please send word. I’m not sure the answer is to go try to find these lances or not. But it is an option. Take care my friend.” Shadow gathers the map information he needs and teleports back to the warehouse to share the information of the lances and Huma with the crew. "Wait!" Romulus cries out. ...

Yes, But... What if it was Shadowrun (Part 2)?

Image
So, still really grooving on the whole cyberpunk/ Shadowrun aesthetic. We join this scene, already in progress, after Raven's first run-in with a "modern" (for the setting) mobile enemy. I am picturing the hoverbike to look pretty much like the Speeder Bikes from "Return of the Jedi" but with a chain gun and grenade launcher in place of the laser cannon and have drawn a not-so-good piece of concept art and even put some stats together but I digress... "... and that is how you reload the minigun. Any questions?" Raven shook his head and Butch closed the front panel on the hoverbike. "I have arranged for the entire system to function as a cohesive whole but I totally 'Frankenstein-ed' the weapon system together - General Electric Minigun, AresTech Grenade Launcher, precision aligned and calibrated with tech from Stark Industries." The old racer moved around to the far side of the bike. "Now...right yoke - throttle and gun control...

Silvanost - Plans

Image
08 Newkolt 349 AC AT WAYRETH TOWER Shadow takes a moment to ponder what to do next. How to find these dragonlances or the means to make them. "Did you find anything about where they were making them? What city or town? Maybe a starting point. Anyone have temples or monuments to them? Maybe we should ask the dragons?” Romulus shakes his head. "They buried Huma in a tomb in what they call Foghaven Vale, somewhere in Southern Ergoth. It is supposed to be guarded by an entire clan of Silver Dragons but, again, I can't find anything else. It's like someone intentionally went to great lengths to make sure this information was not available." AT SUMMERWALKER'S WAREHOUSE  "Walk with me to the warehouse, we are needed there!" Grotto says, switching from his warrior thinking into his healer thinking. While walking, Grotto tells his mentor of the things he found and shows her the horn. While showing her the horn, he puts it to his mouth and gives it a great...
