Tarithnesti - The Party Prepares Their First Move

Image
30 Newkolt 349 AC Cedron decorates himself with his two medals and begins a subtle campaign to raise spirits in the community. He moves from public place to lodge telling inspiring stories of communities overcoming odds for the greatest good “…for what greater good is there than life and preservation…” he tells any who will listen. The elves he runs into, those few remaining civilians and the soldiers who heard him speak at the assembly shortly after the party's arrival take note of his general demeanor, his positive message, and the medals that tell them that he has achieved similar results before and find faith in the group, or the absent gods, or perhaps even the Speaker of the Stars for sending these outland defenders to their aid. After he returns to Tarithnesti, Kysek stables Dusk and then heads to Commander Parnitha's tent to tell the party about to only decent chokepoint he found. “This is what we have to take advantage of them. How do we draw them out? Any ideas? We...

Tarithnesti's Defenders

30 Newkolt 349 AC Ra’ziir settles Redclaw into one of the impromptu stalls, “I’ll try to find some snacks, my friend…” he says as he unsaddles and brushes the griffon. “I am going to need to see a map and have your scouts show us where they saw the army encampment. And a description of what they encountered as numbers of goblins, worgs and, Heaven forbid, hobgoblins." Shadow grins, "We can go out tonight and snatch a goblin or two to get some insight into what we are up against. Then the real fun begins. I've got a plan to even the odds a bit before our friends get here.” The Bladesinger will confer with the others, agreeing that striking out against the enemy targets as soon as possible is a priority, but emphasizes the need for a coordinated plan. “What do we know so far? Where are the closest targets? We need to cut them off from the main host… capture a few for interrogation.” The commander unrolls a map. Notes have been scribbled in the margins with arrows pointin...

Road Trip to the Dragon Isles - Salah Khan

17 Newkolt 349 AC "Take care, Chimeg. I hope all is well when you return." Arthur turns to Davaa and Altan, "We should resupply   on the time, either head out or spend the night." "Staying tonight makes the most sense," Davaa replies. He looks up at the sky. "It looks like the weather is going to hold. It doesn't snow much this side of the Khalkists." A patrol of Green Dragonarmy soldiers comes to a halt, "Travelers, state your business in Alek-Khan." Altan is the first to speak "Just stopping to resupply. We are heading to our clan hold in Ak-Baral to represent our Khan at his cousin's wedding." The soldiers look over the party's horses and notice the chest taken from the Blinded God's Temple and ask about it as well. "Gifts for the bride and groom," Davaa replies. "Open it up," the patrol leader orders. The two Khurs sigh as they take the chest down from the pack horse and open it in...

Road Trip to the Dragon Isles - Temple of the Blinded God

Image
Note: This dungeon is based on the "Temple of the Blind God" adventure module by Tardigames , modified for level, edition, and to fit the plot of this campaign.  16 Newkolt 349 AC Camp is broken and the group is soon in their way with Chimeg riding on the pack horse with the rest of the food and the tent. The ground rises beneath the party's feet and the trail wends its way back and forth between the hills. Davaa consults the map periodically, picking out landmarks and comparing them to what is on the parchment. The hills become steeper as the group climbs, eventually ending at a sheer cliff face that rises a good 200'. A large marble overhang carved from the cliff in front of the group announces the end of their search. A massive gate of marble, lined by two columns, seals the entrance. Four identical runes, depicting eyes, are carved into it. The gate is 20' wide and 40' tall. It is made of the same material as the overhang and columns. Arthur looks in awe a...

Road Trip to the Dragon Isles - A Side Quest within a Side Quest

15 Newkolt 349 AC "Don't know what this great evil is by any chance?" Arthur looks the map over. "I only know that it was once called the Blinded God," the librarian tells him. "Thank you for what you have told us. We should research a bit more about this 'Blinded God' before we make our way." Arthur says. The librarian shakes her head, "I am sorry. There is no further information. Many records were lost during the Great Floods caused by the Cataclysm." "Thank you for all your help." Arthur lays the map down. "Alright, I guess we should ready ourselves." "I will gather my things, it will only take a few minutes," Chimeg excuses herself, "I will meet you on the front steps of the abbey." Arthur rolls the map up and walks to the front steps with Agnes, Davaa, and Altan. He begins to think of what might be sealed away. Altan paces on the stairs, "Do you think we will have to fight this ...
