Readers' Poll: Choose Your Own Rescue Mission

I have been bouncing two ideas around for some time now as one of the potential adventures my players will undertake once they make it to Earth-218.  In the plot I have roughed out in my head, their first appearance will draw a great deal of media attention and in turn, the government will step in to do what it can to help them return home (in exchange for certain services that will be negotiated when the time comes). 

A portal will be built that should allow the adventurers to return to their own world.  This machine would be located deep within Cheyenne Mountain for security reasons so the party will come into contact with many personnel from the military.

In version #1 of this story, General George Hammond, USAF and commander of Stargate Command is Dr. John Hammond’s cousin’s son.  When the events on Isla Nublar take a turn for the worse, John places a phone call to his family member to help bail him out of a jam.  The general cannot send the troops that are under his command so he asks the party for their help.  Those who agree are flown out to a remote island about 120 miles of the west coast of Costa Rica.  They deploy onto the island with the mission of rescuing civilians and attempting to “contain” the dinosaurs for recapture by park personnel.  The party then fights their way across the island, battling dinosaurs along the way including velociraptors and the fearsome Tyrannosaurus. 

The only thing keeping me from hashing this out the rest of the way is version #2… the CDC finds a dormant xenomorph egg and transports it to the Plum Island testing and research facility.  Xenomorphs beings xenomorphs, the egg hatches, a face-hugger emerges, and soon the facility is overrun by a bunch of drones and a massive queen.  Once again, the party’s mission is to rescue as many people as possible while eliminating the alien threat.

So, which would you use?  The plot for both adventures is basically the same.  Do you fight dinosaurs or do you fight aliens?
