Krynn - Silvanesti (Day One, Part Two)

Grotto scowls at the obvious insult! "That's Mr. Dwarf to you bub!" Grotto says through pursed lips. "I will let your obvious slight towards me and my kind pass since your were hospitable enough to nurse us back to health. Think of it as your free pass!"

The rest of the party leaps to Grotto's defense, citing his bravery and honor and being amongst the highest known in all of their travels. The scarred dwarf's eyes heart fills with pride and he swallows a lump that has mysteriously appeared in his throat.

Onfroithalas raises both hands, palms facing the party. "I was there almost 350 years ago, in the immediate wake of the gods hurling their mountain down upon Istar before abandoning this world, I led a group of refugees to the very gates of Pax Tharkas, the so-called 'Citadel of Peace', seeking shelter from fiery rain and ash. Until then, we had though of the dwarves as friends but they showed their true nature they turned us away. Perhaps That Dwarf is as honorable as you claim but his kin are no friends to anyone but themselves!"

A tense silence falls over the chamber for a moment before Cedron clears his throat and speaks. “We are ALL indeed faced with a mystery. I, for one, would like to know what in the heavens did we drink in Valhalla?” He looks to his friends with a smirk. “Seriously, have any of you ever seen Grotto in such disrepair?” The minstrel-priest let’s loose a quick laugh before quickly swallowing back whatever followed it. “I wish we had more, so we can shut the dwarf up on occasion.”

Turning to Onfroithalas, “One thing I can tell you for certain, we are no spies. And I am most grateful for your hospitality.”

Raven interjects, "What about these Dragonarmies of which you speak?" Romulus shifts uncomfortably from one foot to another, his recent death at the claws of a dragon still fresh in his mind.

Onfroithalas barks out a short, derisive laugh, "Pah! They fear the might of the House Protector. Knowing that facing us on the field of battle would be ruinous for them, they sent envoys to meet with Speaker of the Sun, our King Lorac, begging that Silvanesti not interfere with their conflicts with the lands beyond our borders."

Shadow speaks up. “We are charged with traveling from world to world, realm to realm if you will, and fighting the good fight for some reason. Each time we awaken in a new place we are presented with a task, a foe that needs facing. So that we may assist and be in our way perhaps home at last, tell us about these Dragonarmies and where we can find them.”

Cedron continues to listen but speaks with Lorraine, "Now Lorraine of House Physic to answer your questions, my name is Cedron of house Mahgnus the 3rd, son of Lord Mahgnus the 2nd, Grand Vizir to King Abbassi. As for how we came here, I’m not certain. The last I remember I was celebrating, rather fiercely, a very hard-earned victory with my brothers. The rest is well…a bit of a blur. Perhaps if we could freshen up a bit and have a meal, and maybe my memory will return to me.” The minstrel-priest smiles.

Arthur approaches Grotto, and lays a hand upon the dwarf. He calls upon Malazzarr to heal his companion's illness but there is no response, not even a sense of the god's presence.

A young woman with long white hair, wearing the same garb as the rest of the healers cocks her head slightly to one side, "What are you doing?"
