Obvious Octopus

I hereby present two versions of Obvious Octopus for use in your campaigns. The first was made using Steve Jackson's TOON and other is a d20 Modern version of the D&D 3.5e Toon race.

Obvious Octopus

Description: Obvious is a orange octopus with blue eyes. He normally uses four of his arms for walking and the other four to manipulate objects.

Beliefs & Goals: Obvious is always hungry and his favorite food is hamburgers. He is outgoing, friendly, and loves being the center of attention.

Quick Change/Disguise
You can change nearly instantly into a convincing costume of just about anyone or anything — with a few limitations. You can change any aspect of your personal appearance, but not your basic size or weight. A canary could disguise itself as a parakeet, or a mouse, or perhaps even a cat or a tiny little elephant. It couldn't disguise itself as a full-sized elephant. A man could disguise himself as a bear or a small horse, or maybe a large cat; he couldn't shrink to the size of a canary, or grow to the size of a dinosaur.

Constrict (Ex): Obvious Octopus inflicts 2d6+2 damage with a successful Grapple check.
Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a giant octopus must hit an opponent of any size with a tentacle attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can constrict.
Ink Cloud (Ex): Obvious Octopus can emit a cloud of jet-black ink 10 feet high by 10 feet wide by 10 feet long once per minute as a free action. The cloud provides total concealment, which the octopus normally uses to escape a losing fight. All vision within the cloud is obscured. More, commonly, he releases a 10' cone of ink (when out of the water) whenever he is startled.
Jet (Ex): A giant octopus can jet backward once per round as a full-round action, at a speed of 200 feet. It must move in a straight line, but does not provoke attacks of opportunity while jetting.
Toon Traits (Ex): Aging: Toons, if they age at all, never pass adulthood. As a result, they aren't subject to the attribute increases or decreases that living beings suffer as they age.
Back Pocket: Toons, even those that don't wear clothes, have "Back Pockets" that can carry an amazing (in fact, virtually unlimited) variety and number of items.
Fame: All toons are famous to some degree; having either starred or appeared in at least one cartoon short or animated movie. It is widely believed that forgotten toons pass away, though no one has ever found any evidence of this. If toons die when they becomes forgotten, they don't leave behind any physical remains.
Prankster: Toons are jokers and entertainers that have no skill at inflicting real, lasting harm. Toons do not suffer the -4 penalty to attack rolls when trying to deal non-lethal damage with any attack/weapon that normally deals lethal damage; they do however suffer a -4 racial penalty when trying to deal lethal damage, even if the weapon being used normally inflicts lethal damage. If a toon attempts to deal lethal damage with a toon weapon, they suffer a -8 penalty to their roll (the -4 equipment penalty plus the -4 racial penalty).
Immunities: Toons suffer non-lethal damage from, and can be incapacitated by, starvation, suffocation, drowning, thirst, or poison; but they cannot be killed by these things. Toons are generally immune to disease; the only exception seems to be allergies and the common cold.
Regeneration: Toons possess Regeneration 1. Any damage a toon takes will become non-lethal damage unless it's specifically designed to do lasting harm to a toon. Such toon-killing weapons are uncommon at best, even in those campaigns that mix humans and toons. Where they are available for purchase, they are toxic chemicals requiring special licenses to own and handle them. A character suitably skilled in chemistry can make their own out of a handful of industrial chemicals.
Skills: All toon characters will automatically have all Perform skills as class skills.

• Construct traits: Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects); Immunity to sleep effects,  paralysis, stunning, death effects, and Necromancy effects.
Not subject to critical hits, nonlethal damage, ability damage, ability drain, fatigue, exhaustion, or energy drain.
Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects, or is harmless).
Not at risk of death from massive damage. Immediately destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points or less.
Since it was never alive, a construct cannot be raised or resurrected.

Skills: A giant octopus can change colors, giving it a +4 racial bonus on Hide checks. A giant octopus also can squeeze and contort its body, giving it a +10 racial bonus on Escape Artist checks. A giant octopus has a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a hazard. It can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. It can use the run action while swimming, provided it swims in a straight line.

Using Obvious Octopus in a Campaign: Obvious, or any other toon character for that matter, is obviously (pun intended) going to be a comic relief character. He could be a client, a la "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" wherein a hapless schmo ok becomes the center of a frame job with him needing the party's help to prove his innocence. He could be an industry contact with ties to other entertainment icons.
He prefers to be nonconfrontational. If threatened, he will try to distract an opponent, switch into a disguise, most often as a "dame", a traveling salesman, or launch into a song and dance routine before making his escape. The consumption of alcohol makes steam pour from his ears and causes him to ricochet uncontrollably around the room. Blows to the head cause little cartoon fish to appear and circle around the injury for a round before disappearing in a series of popping bubbles. The scent of delicious foods, especially cheeseburgers, causes him to float gently through the air toward the source of the delicacy.
