Monster Truckers - Corporations of the Pre-War Days

So... when we went to create the Dragula/Electric Warlock character, he was originally going to be called Dr. Zekenstein's Monster. That ended up changing but it made me wonder who Dr. Zekenstein might have been.

Dr. Z was a geneticist and surgeon who became an early pioneer of the technology that led to the creation of Zippers. And he would have made a lot of money along the way. While no one can confirm Dr. Zekenstein's fate following the war, he had inspired a lot of competition.

Canonically, BeautyMax already existed, offering to preserve youth and vitality through Project Mummy™ but I felt like there needed to be more corporate players on the field as it were. Most of them would have been subsumed by HumanCorp by now or destroyed during the Human-Monster War but, as an option, I would like to present the following for consideration.

1. Zekenstein Biotechnics
     • THE pioneer is the recombination and reanimation of the dead. They developed the technology that made Zippers possible. While the military was their primary intended customer, they also made great strides in organ transplants and the development of anti-rejection drugs.

2. Prometheus Dynamics
     • a company specializing in Genetic Engineering, creating designer babies, enhanced immune systems (vaccines will be a thing of the past!) and of course, Super-Soldiers. Their meddling with and splicing of the human genome resulted in the creation of many human/animal hybrids. These hybrids are not lycanthropes in the traditional "mystical" sense but share many abilities and vulnerabilities of that species.

3. Necro-Sys Solutions
     • a cybernetics-focused company that combined deceased subjects with cybernetics to create workers who were technically dead and had no protection provided by OSHA regulations and were advertised as "free labor". They were often accused of grave-robbing. When their creations proved to be sentient, public opinion was split.

4. Lazarus Industries
     • Zekenstein's closest competitor, focusing on the reconstruction amd recombination of the dead, also accused of grave-robbing, patent violations, and unethical resurrection (which partially led to the creation of Stay Dead™ insurance policies).
     • It is rumored/an open secret that Lazarus Industries and Zekenstein Biotechnics board members would meet for golf.

Every one of them claims to have solved death and every one of them is at least partially lying.
