Day Four of the Odinsleep - The Power of the Goddess

Day Four of the Odinsleep (7:40:06 am)

Korbin turns and flies off in the wake of the two massive ravens and disappears from sight.

Shadow is in motion instantly.  He reaches the edge of the wall and points at the ground below while shouting out the words, “Μεταστέγαση ροκ στη λάσπη!”  Immediately, the ground at the base of the wall is transmogrified into a sucking morass of thick mud.  The pair of Jotuns holding the ladder steady sink to mid-thigh but between the two of them and their prodigious strength, they manage to hold the ladder upright as the trolls and ogres continue to scramble toward the top.

As the rest of the party leaps to their feet, each reaching for weapons or spell components in preparation for battle with the climbing ogres and trolls, Idunn releases Cedron’s hand and steps toward the top of the ladder.  Her size doubles, and then doubles again as she moves.  Even discounting her growth, she is suddenly more THERE – her very presence expands and a divine glow radiating outwards from Idunn washes over the party as her power is revealed.  The party is shocked into stillness.  Shadow and Ra’ziir manage to retain their bearings and even stagger forward under the weight of her divine presence but the rest of the group comes to a standstill.  Raven wavers for a moment before sinking to one knee, a rare smile spreading across his face as he basks in her benevolent radiance.  Idunn peers over the top of the ladder and smiles down at the approaching monsters.  She smiles down at them and waves, “Hello, boys” as she waits for the nearest to come almost within reach.  She then places one deceptively delicate hand on each of the ladder’s siderails and, quipping “Goodbye, boys,” almost effortlessly pushes them apart. The lashings holding each rung snap and the entire structure collapses, sending the ogres and trolls into a fall.  Several strike the Jotuns at the ladder’s base and bounce off, knocking the blue-skinned giants from their feet and leaving everyone piled in a heap at the base of the wall.

Idunn turns to face the group, her normal size and presence restored and she beams at the party as a wooden staff appears in her hand.  She winks in Cedron's direction and says, “Nothing to worry about, my darlings.  Save your strength for the real fighting.”

Below, the Jotuns, trolls, and ogres all begin disentangling themselves from each other and fall back to gather their wits and formulate a new plan for scaling the wall.
