What Do You Mean He Can't Climb? He's Like 30th level?!

When I went to write This Post, I was surprised to discover that Raven has basically Zero Ranks in Climb.

None.

Zilch.

Nada.

He's the highest level character in the party and can't climb any better than Farmer Fred or Joe Commoner.  Even worse, he doesn't have any magical items that confer Flight, Levitation, or Climbing ability.

Someone is definitely going to have to spend some points in areas that have been neglected over the years.

  Raven couldn't remember entering a rift. One moment, he was walking toward Tarithnesti. The next moment, he was here. A long corridor made of polished stone. Faint starlight provided scant illumination. The air smelled of rain that hadn't quite fallen yet. Ahead, a door hung in mid-air with no wall attached. The words, " EXIT (DO NOT USE FOR EXITING)" were carved into it. A voice behind him spoke. "You are not supposed to be conscious in this layer." Raven turned. No one was there. Tarithnesti - Distractions and Maneuvers

07 Deepkolt 349 AC EN ROUTE TO TARITHNESTI Kysek continues his flight with Dusk. The elf continues to switch his sight from his own to Bubo’s. He focuses on trying to see everything he can through Bubo’s eyes when doing so. When he focuses on his own surroundings, he keeps a keen eye for ground forces that may have not reached the city yet. He is always reassuring Dusk, “Keep out of sight, girl! Fly silently! Keep a keen eye for enemies! If we find them along the way; it may be our way to help save the city. You’re doing great! Remember; we are the ghosts in the darkness!” As Kysek urges Dusk to fly as fast as she can toward Tarithnesti, he spots it: a narrow stretch of road cutting between two hedgerows shows faint signs of passage: crushed grass, fresh hoofprints, and the glint of metal catching brief sunlight through the canopy. Magic is a pervasive source of energy that permeates the universe.   It could be compared to the Force in that it is created by all living things.   It surrounds us, it penetrates us, it binds the galaxy together.   With training, anyone can learn to manipulate this form of energy to achieve a variety of effects.   An unexpected side effect of harnessing this energy is the havoc it wreaks on advanced technology.   Electrical lights flicker, vehicles break down unexpectedly, and communication equipment fails.   Centuries ago, exposure to magic would cause flames to burn in unusual colors, milk to sour, and horses to sweat in the morning.   Over time, the way magic has been utilized has evolved to avoid these deleterious consequences. Rescue on Mt. Oberg

Real life adventures are often a rich source of inspiration for fictional ones at the gaming table.   With that in mind, I present the following scenarios for your reading pleasure. My primary idea was to locate the mountain somewhere along the eastern seaboard of the United States , preferably during the War for Independence .   The group of player characters would be scouts for the Continental Army sent to survey the area for possible troop movements for an attack on a British held city.   The chief cartographer fell from one of the high cliffs when his muddy boots failed to find purchase on an expanse of exposed rock.   The rest of his group needs to retrieve his body and maps before they are discovered by Loyalist forces, alerting them to the rebels’ interest in the area. In a D&D-style campaign, we would take the same geographic features but we’d have to tweak the history some to prevent a wizard from simply casting Fly, Levitate, or Spider C...
