Day Five of the Odinsleep (I Feel the Earth Move Under My Feet)

Day Five of the Odinsleep; 7 am, (Sunrise)

“Run.” “Save yourself.” “It's too much. This is too much for mere mortals.” These thoughts race through Cedron's head as thunder and lightning and blood flash before the minstrel's eyes. Something deep within steels his spine and the priest of Malazzarr focuses on the task before him. This is Valhalla, a place of heroes and this is a time for heroics. “For PROGRESS!” Cedron declares as he dives toward the spiked giant, angling toward the fist that is crushing Grotto. Just before impact, the folds of the cape flare outward, enveloping the bard and the badly wounded dwarf before vanishing from sight. Cedron finds himself in a small featureless room, illuminated to the same degree as the ambient light outside. He cradles the dwarf's broken body in his lap. He stares out of an unseen window at the chaos of the ongoing battle.

Grotto, for his part, is completely insensible. He finds himself in a long, low tunnel of earth and stone, reinforced with girders of iron. The smells of hops and woodsmoke fill the air. Rhythmic drumming and a chorus of deep voices lifted in song echo off of the tunnel walls. A powerfully-built dwarf, his face almost completely obscured by a thick black beard steps into view....

Kysek watches as Cedron and Grotto disappear. He quickly glances around and sees Shadow, Raz'iir, Drax, and Raven all closing in on the wounded giant. He utters a single word, “Греатер Инвисибилиты” and vanishes. Not sure what to do next, Kysek The elf begins to circle, looking for an opening where he may do some good.

Shadow curses aloud. “Lightning heals them! Good to know. I think this might slow it down!” The dark elf waggles his fingers, pointing at the ground beneath the spiked monster's feet and whispers, “Μετατρέψτε τη Γη σε λάσπη”. Instantly the ground beneath the creature's feet liquifies. The quagmire sucks the spiked titan into the ground up to its waist, teetering for balance as its hand swipes through the air Cedron and Grotto occupied just a moment before.

Drax continues to circle, looking for an opening where his short blades can do the most damage to this metallic foe. The assassin shakes his head, wishing that the group had avoided this fight instead of trying to communicate with creatures of an unknown alliance.

Ra’ziir draws Grumbar's Razor from its sheath. Smoke begins pouring from the obsidian blade, obscuring his position as he kicks his heels into his eight-legged steed's ribs. The sleipnir charges forward as the bladesinger concentrates on the crystal heart deep within his chest. The elf calls upon the Gift of the Blood and the Jewel, granted to him by the elephantine creature Yag-Kosha in exchange for death, and cries out “Terrae motus!” The ground begins to shake and tremble. The spiked giant and Raven both stumble as the earth and mud all around them churns violently but neither falls.
