Ghostbusters Equipment for the d20 System

Image
A few years ago, I came up with an crossover involving the Ghostbusters and Doctor Strange .  I have been batting this equipment around for a couple of years now as part of the first draft for Earth-218 but haven't put it to use yet. However, the original Ghostbusters RPG had the "Ghost Die". Whenever a character performs a Ghostbuster-related task, the Ghost Die must be rolled (a d6 can be substituted with a "6" representing the ghost if necessary).  If the Ghost comes up, Something Bad Has Happened.  This can range from something mildly annoying (if the task was successful) to something really embarrassing or dangerous (if the task failed). What if... The Ghostbusters accidentally capture the astral body of Dr. Strange after mistaking it for a ghost and store it in their ecto-containment unit.   Normally the Doctor would have easily evaded their efforts but he was busy dealing with an extra-dimensional enemy and was taken unawares by their attack from the physical plane. Once the Ghostbusters discover what they have done, the group must enter the containment unit, find the wizard’s spirit and free it.   Other ghosts trapped within the containment unit have objections to this line of actions and try to stop the "jailbreak" or escape from the unit themselves. US Archer

Man, looking back, the 80s were frickin’ weird.   Ignore for a moment Glam Rock, Parachute Pants, New Coke, and Flock of Seagulls haircuts and think about the how the Decade of Excess gave birth to some of the most iconic and enduring pop culture icons of all time: Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Thundercats, and the list goes on and on. The character I’m going to talk about today is not on that list. Anywhere. And for good reason. Ulysses Solomon Archer was the product of a merchandising tie-in between Tyco Toys and Marvel Comics.   The series lasted for 12 issues before being cancelled and while the character himself has cropped up a handful of times, most notably with She-Hulk, a team-up Deadpool, and when he applied for a job as the nanny to Luke Cage and Jessica Jones’s daughter, he is one of those characters that … well, could have only existed in the 80s. But, like Turbo Teen , Condiment King , Perry the Platypus ,...
