Campaign Chronicles

I originally wrote this description up for my gaming group back in June 2013. I've made a few small tweaks for clarification but am still pretty pleased with how it turned out. This presentation only reflects the Sword of Omens as it appeared in the cartoon and does include abilities displayed in the related comic book media (mostly because I was never into the comics). The Sword of Omens : +5 Size Alteration Calling Dagger/Shortsword/Longsword Powers: at CL20; Clairvoyance (at will), The Eye of Thundara, when commanded projects the emblem of the Thundercats into the air like a spotlight. This imbues all Thundercats who can see it with a Mass Bull's Strength, Mass Cat's Grace and Mass Bear's Endurance. Additionally, the sword can block magical ray attacks with a successful Reflex save by the wielder (treat as the Deflect Arrows feat).  A second Reflex allows the wielder to redirect the attack back at the caster at a -4 to hit penalty. “Sword of Omens, come to my hand.” If you were a child of the 80’s, you are no doubt familiar with these words.   For those of you who are not, the Sword of Omens was the signature weapon of Lion-O, leader of the Thundercats.   When called, the sword would fly to him, crossing great distances and sometimes penetrating physical barriers to reach him. Likewise, we all know that Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, always (well, almost always) returns to him when thrown.   But it has also demonstrated the ability to come to its master even if it is at rest someplace or was dropped in battle. This brings me to the two new magical enhancements that I have been working on: • Calling: Upon command, a Calling weapon flies to the hand of its wielder (Spd 60’).   The weapon can travel up to 100’ per enhancement bonus.   A weapon requires one week to become attuned to its wielder who must carry it for no less than 8 hours each day.   If there is a physical barrier wit...
