Blowhole, the Legendary Long-Distance Leviathan

I was watching the Tick with my youngest son the other day and got to thinking, "I could make Blowhole into a D&D character" so, with a little puttering about, I present yet another Tick-related post for your enjoyment. Chairface Chippendale

Image
I have been holding on to this blog entry for awhile because I don't want to become the guy who posts characters from the Tick all of the time but I think it's time to share my latest interpretation of one of the greatest antagonists the Tick has ever faced. That said, Chairface, the Tick, and all associated characters are the property of Ben Edlund. Chairface Chippendale is a criminal mastermind. He has parlayed his nefarious deeds into a vast fortune that supports a luxurious lifestyle.  His unusual deformity has made him an outsider all of his life.  Perhaps because of this, he takes great joy in carrying out his evil deeds.  The greatest of these was an attempt to burn his name into the face of the moon, a plan that was thwarted before it could be completely carried out.  Chairface Chippendale : Human male Expert 10 CR: 10     Medium Humanoid (Human) HD: 10d6+10     Hp: 45 Init: +1     Spd: 30'...

The World's Most Comfortable Chair

Image
The World's Most Comfortable Chair is a green leather armchair with a cut-out area to provide support for the user's head and neck. Anyone who sits in it is subjected to the greatest level of comfort they have ever experienced. This sense of relaxation is so intense that those seated lose interest in anything beyond sitting in the Chair, abandoning all plans in the process. June 14, 1953 - The first person who ever sat in the chair (Experimental Subject #1), announced it was comfortable and that sitting in it was the best thing he had ever done. He remained in the chair until September 20, 1976 (23 years, 3 months, 6 days).   Those who sit in the Chair must make a Will save (DC20) or become so comfortable that their only desire is to continue sitting in the chair. While seated, they speak in a drowsy, disconnected manner. They may attempt additional Will saves to escape from the Chair's influence but many choose not to unless inspired by outside forces.

The Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs at Midnight!

Image
I had posted this character class meme on Instagram a short time ago… It got me to thinking about The Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs at Midnight from the Tick cartoon and, like so very   many times before , I had to convert the character into an NPC for use in my campaign .   If you wanted to use The Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs at Midnight in a “standard” campaign, he would still function in much the same way he does in the show – as an unstable maniac the adventurers or the City Watch has to deal with. This is what I came up with (AD&D stats at the end) .   I hope you enjoy. - - - - - - The Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs at Midnight (Real Name unrevealed) CR: 1 Male Human Expert 1 CN Medium Humanoid Init: +1, Senses: Listen +1, Spot +1 Languages: Read/Write and Speak English AC: 12 (Costume, +1 Dex); t: 11, ff: 11 Hp: 6 (1HD) Immune: - - Fort +0, Ref +1, Will +3 ...

Apocalypse Cow

Image
This NPC was inspired by the 2001 TV-adaption of “The Tick”.  Apocalypse Cow was an ordinary Holstein Dairy Cow until just a year ago.  That was when cultists “cow”-napped her and attempted to sacrifice her to the fiendish Baphomet.  The cultists botched the rite and accidentally summoned one of the demon lord’s servitors who possessed the cow, causing its transformation into its current state.  I incorporated her into my MSH campaign (and then later converted her to d20 for compatibility with my current campaign) and sent her on a rampage through the city of San Francisco .  She was eventually stopped through the combined efforts of Char (who you may be familiar with from other stories on this blog ), Rex (a Dr. Frank-N-Furter cosplayer with growth powers), and the Mani-Yak (a Hiroshima survivor transformed into a half-man/half-yak hybrid). Apocalypse Cow (formerly known as Beatrice, possessed by the demon Qemuel) Female Upright Fiendish Bovine (Holstein...
