Giant Man-eating Toothed Clam

I was listening to YouTube today and heard the phrase "Pleistocene Man-Eating Giant Clam" along with an incredibly brief discussion of their dentition pattern (incredibly brief because clams don't have teeth). But hey, this a role-playing game so why the heck not?

Which leads me to tonight's post. This Clam is based on the AD&D and Pathfinder versions of the Giant Clam presented using 3.5e rules. There is also a version for the Epoch RPG.

Blindsense (Ex): Clams can sense creatures within 30' of itself automatically as long as it has line of effect to that creature. This ability only functions in water.
Crush (Ex): On a successful grapple check, a giant man-eating toothed clam deals 1d6+5 points of damage.
Improved Grab (Ex): If a giant man-eating toothed bite, it can start a Grapple without provoking an Attack of Opportunity. If it gets a hold, it can crush each round.
• Vermin Traits: Mindless: No Intelligence score, and immunity to all mindaffecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, and morale effects)
Skills: Giant Man-eating Toothed Clams receive a +8 racial bonus to Hide checks Coral reefs or other rocky, underwater environments. They receive a +8 racial bonus on any Swim check to perform some special action or avoid a hazard. It can always choose to take 10 on a Swim check, even if distracted or endangered. It can use the run action while swimming, provided it swims in a straight line.

Using the Giant Man-eating Toothed Clam in your campaign:

These creatures live in shallow water, typically in coastal areas or brackish estuaries. They remain motionless with their mouth open, waiting for prey to come within reach and then attack. Their shells, if alchemically treated, can be used to make Heavy Shields. Their serrated teeth can be used to make daggers and their meat is considered a delicacy.
