Fey Weighted Throwing Hat

Raven walked into the tavern. The bandit leader had a knife to the bartender's throat, using him as a human shield.

"That's close enough, stranger. One more step and the old man gets it."

Raven slowly unbuckled his sword belt and let it drop to the floor. He removed his green jacket and hung it across the back of a chair.

A smile slowly spread across the criminal's face. "That's more like it."

Raven reached up and removed his hat by the brim. For a moment, the bandit almost laughed. Then Raven threw it.

The crimson hat spun through the air. The broad brim, which had always seemed soft and flexible, became suddenly rigid as it turned, striking the bandit across the jaw with the force of a mailed fist.

The thug staggered, his grip loosening. The bartender dropped away from the knife.

The hat curved through the air and returned neatly to Raven's waiting hand.

Raven slipped his toes beneath Nightwatcher and flipped it into the air. The blade was clear of its sheath less than a moment later.
