My apologies for the long delay in this post.  If any of you want to go back and refresh yourself on what is happening, this will take you back to the previous post.

Day Five of the Odinsleep (5 am, 2 hours until sunrise)

Cedron holds up his hands to forestall any further argument, “Raven I would be an imbecile not to heed your insight on facing an enemy.  Let’s say we do bring the fight to Loki’s door, then the question still remains, how do we find him?”

He pauses for a moment, and turns to Idunn. “We are mere interlopers here m’lady. Please excuse our lack of familiarity, but where might you suggest we find the Sly One’s domicile? No doubt it entails a long treacherous journey that only the foolish would attempt.”

Kysek shakes his head briefly before adding. “Whether we take the fight to him or wait for him to come here is of no matter. If we wait here, he is just sending wave after miserable wave of minions to wear us down. The sooner we take the fight to him the better. If I’m meant to die here, it’s going to be in a blaze of glory against a worthy foe. I refuse to die at the hands of someone’s henchmen!   No matter how big those hands are. The key is stealth. Sneak in to his lair to avoid unnecessary battle along the way.”

Grotto spits on the floor, “Pah!  How do we sneak up on a God? May as well just walk to his front door and barge in? He will see us coming!”

While munching on the last of the breakfast that Grotto prepared, Niklas says simply, “I’ve heard that it’s ‘not the size of the man in the fight but rather the size of the fight in the man.’ That being said, in the short time I’ve been with you, we’ve taken on lopsided odds more often than not and have come out rather unscathed. I will follow the path you all choose but I’d rather hunt than be hunted.”

Morn, listening to the banter and questions going back and forth between the divine beings and the party eventually pipes up, "We will want to be ready for misdirection.  Tricksters, be they divine or mundane, are not ones that would make the direct path a particularly healthy choice to make."

Shadow stands before Hildr and asks “Help us defeat Loki. What would you do?”

“Yes, What advice might you give those that would dare do battle with this Sly One?” Ra’ziir asks of both Idunn and the Valkyrie.

Drax looks at both women and asks a question of his own. "This being is a god, yes? Can the gods of this place be killed here, in their realm? Can mortal weapons harm them?"

The Valkyrie Hildr shrugs, “I have been told that there are few things in this universe that are truly immortal.  Loki can be killed and your weapons will harm him.  Be warned that he will shrug off the brunt of all attacks save those from the most powerful enchanted arms.  The Castle of Loki stands naught but fifty leagues from here, hard on the shores of the Sea of Marmora.”

Idunn nods, “If you truly wish to travel there, I will not seek to gainsay you, but I would advise caution.  Tis a long way to travel if you are to pass through the entirety of Loki’s forces.”

Hildr replies, “Milady, if they travel quickly enough, it is possible that they may avoid conflict betwixt here and there.”

“How so?” the goddess asks, “Only by flying above the clouds or running as swiftly as the wind itself could they hope to avoid the army encamped outside our walls.”

“Then as swift as the wind they shall be,” Hildr eyes Shadow, “If they be bold enough.”

Meanwhile, as Korbin and the dwarf speak outside of the shop across town, the crow tells him, “I would love to see what you have.  Trade is my second, no third, favorite activity.”

The dwarf squints, “And what be the first two?”

“They are bird things.  You would not understand.  But, pray tell, what items have you to offer?”

“I have a variety of rings, me fine feathered friend.  Given your size and lack of fingers and the ones ye be wearing about yer ankles, I kin see that ye has a use fer ‘em.  Come inside and get yerself a look-see.”

The dwarf reaches under the counter and pulls out a wooden box with the carving of a tree on the lid.  He opens it up and turns it around for Korbin to see and begins describing his wares.

“This one be fer makin’ a fella a better swimmer – that’s no use to ye but THIS one,” he holds up a ring with the head of a mountain goat carved into the band, “this one kin project a powerful force that’ll burst most doors and knock most foes onta their backs.”  He slips the rings onto his fingers as he goes and Korbin notes that the size of the band changes, ensuring that each fits snugly.  “This next one will turn aside attacks as if ye be wearin’ light armor and this one is enchanted to help find handholds and footholds fer climbin’.  This last one be me grandest offering – it kin summon a being from the plane of Air to do yer bidding fer a short time!  And me prices are reasonable!”
