Dramatis Personae - Revised
Cedron Maghnus III - born in Aquilonia on the world of Hyboria, Cedron took to adventuring after his fiance was murdered. He found solace in the faith of Malazzarr soon after the god reclaimed his divinity. He is often the spokesman for the group, dispensing advise and wisdom in times of trouble. He wears the Witching Cloak, a powerful artifact taken from Boy Blue in the Grimmlands and carries a pouch of magical seeds that are used to create portals joining the worlds the party has visited.
Grotto Grimmbeard - a dwarf hailing from the Checkerboard Kingdoms of the Grimmlands, Grotto is one of seven brothers. He spent many years as a slave to a band of goblins who burned his face. A skilled warrior and healer, Grotto worships Hanseath, the dwarf god of brewing and heroism.
Kysek Creepingshadow - this elf from Evereska fled his home to avoid being forced to study magic, preferring a life of adventure to one of study. After earning a massive fortune, he retired but his hedonistic lifestyle quickly drained his coffers and he rejoined the group. Older and wiser, he has taken up the magical arts. On the world of Hyboria, he wed Lady Coellia and was knighted as the Lord of the Barrie Grange.
Nym "Shadow" Millithor - duelist, rogue, and wizard, Shadow formerly adventured with the Knights of Daggerford. This drow has gained acceptance amongst the party. He was elected leader of the group during the party's time in Asgard. After completing his Test of High Sorcery, he was inducted into the Order of Red Robes.
Ra'ziir Elbereth - like Kysek, Ra’ziir was also born in Evereska, He is the founder of the Guild of the Griffon bladesong school. In the Elephant's Tower, his heart was torn out and replaced with a large crystal. Exposure to the energies of the Well of Eternity on Nehwon has caused the crystal to spread throughout his body, transforming him into a half-elemental. After completing his Test of High Sorcery, he was inducted into the Order of Black Robes.
Raven Straightbow - was born on Evermeet as Shotheri Argyth. His father was a diplomat who had helped organize the Retreat of Elves from Myth Dranor. While traveling with his father, their caravan was ambushed by ogres and his father was killed. Rescued by a Rider of Mistledale and nicknamed "Raven", the elf spent three decades serving with the Riders. He began experiencing periods of mania brought on by his inability to enter the Reverie, a skill he had not learned prior to his father's death. Urged by the Riders' chaplain to seek out other elves, Raven left the Riders and joined a band of adventurers. He was later inducted into the Knights of the Shadow Sword in Myth Dranor, a group of warriors who worship Shaundakul. Raven's prowess with a blade has led Cedron to call him the "Black Bird of Death". He has recently gained the mantle of the Sugar Plum Fairy and does not yet know the extent of his abilities or duties.
Romulus Bramblefoot - a halfling from Cormyr, Romulus had wanted to a be wizard but was turned down for several apprenticeships until a retired War Wizard decided to take a chance on him. He has survived the retributive strikes of two different magical staves, the second after losing a hand in a spell duel against a former mentor. The first blast sent him to the Clockwork Plane of Nirvana while the second left him in the Beastlands. There, he began studying druidism. Romulus does most of the item crafting and arcane research for the group. He was killed in a volcano on the world of Nehwon but survived thanks to a pre-prepared clone and eventually rejoined the party. After completing his Test of High Sorcery, he was inducted into the Order of Red Robes.
We have been playing these characters for a long time (some of them with very long breaks in between). Shadow was created back in late '92 or early '93. Raven, Romulus, and Kysek date back to July of 1994 and Ra'ziir was introduced two or three months later. Cedron, Grotto, and Arthur all date back to various points in 2017 and everyone has been involved in wars, end of the world crisises, or confronted deities over the course of their adventures and there is so much more to come.
