A Horse By Any Other Name (Part 20)

One Month after the Summer Solstice (Seventh Moon 1000 ALB)

Sir Kysek Creepingshadow, Knight of the Barrie Grange approaches the iron-bound doors, “Knocking it would appear is the least of our concern at this point.” The elficorn turns his backside toward the door and blasts it open with a powerful kick from his hind legs. The door flies open and slams into the wall with a resounding bang that echoes through the empty hallways. “I’m ready to go home!”

Shadow floats into the room beyond the door and calls out “HELLO!  Anyone here?”

Ra’ziir makes his way up the stairs and enters into the structure with the others, sword at the ready.

Cedron moves onward. “Lets go move forward “ says the minstrel priest.

Raven will draw his borrowed sword and enter, moving forward to take point should something nasty appear to attack the party. He directs Abacus and Foil Hat to the middle of the group.

Abacus clears his throat as he looks around nervously, "We need to find stairs leading down. The mirror was locked away by Star Swirl the Bearded."

Foil Hat scoffs, "Yes, our dear princess had trouble with not looking in on other worlds. Repeated uses of the mirror almost caused one of them to crash into ours."

Abacus shakes his head, "Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Luna had gone crazy and was banished to the moon. Her parents had departed. She had no friends, none at all, who didn't covet her position or the influence that came with being her companion. She found a place where she could be herself. That's not so bad if you ask me."

Kysek, at the fore, spots a stairway with one flight heading up and another leading down into the darkness. 

Niklas readies his bow and joins the procession toward the opening.

Drax follows the group inside, slipping into the hushed gloom with a practiced ease. The assassin moves in complete silence, his footfalls no more than a whisper.

Grotto drops to the rear guard position, ready to defend the party from attack or heal the injured as needed.
