Balifor Bay - Aftermath (Part 2)
22nd Gildember 348 AC
Grotto is marveled by the healing properties of the candies Raven produced. "How did you do that?" He asks Raven. "This will come in hanfy later for sure! What magic is this? Might i be able to replicate these with my alchemy wares?" He presses.
Raven's mouth drops in surprise. "I didn't know those could do that. I just thought they tasted good."
"They just appeared in your hand though! Where did they come from!"
"Oh, that. I... summoned them. It's part of my... new position... in the Seelie Court."
"Seelie Court? Is that something that happened when you disappeared in the mushroom circle? What else did they bestow upon you?"
Raven nods, "Yes. And I'm not sure. The fey are never very forthcoming."
After chatting with Raven, he looks at the dust pile of the former foes. "Nothing here but poor equipment and a few coppers. Goblin bait for sure!" Grotto says with disappointment.
Raven shrugs, "The equipment is not that poor. It is sturdy, if plain, something you would make or buy if you had a lot of troops to arm quickly. He picks up one of the axes and gives it a twirl. "Decently balanced and the blade has been well maintained. The same can be said for the armor."
Ra’ziir circulates among the injured scouts looking for any on the brink of death. Two are dead, killed by the dragonmen during the initial battle. Of the remaining eight, five were injured in the explosions. Three are unconscious but appear to be stable, a result of Raven's magically-summoned candies.
Cedron tends to the three unconscious scouts, extracting bone bone splinters, binding, and stiching cuts. It is crude and bloody work. As he labors, he comments, “These men are willing to defend us with their lives. Tending their wounds is the least I can do for them.” After tending the scouts through mundane means, he turns his attention to more arcane methods. He closes his eyes, a whispers the words to a hymn - the words, while focused on the divine, do not ask for power from the gods, instead drawing from the magical energy permeating the world itself. He gently lays a hand upon the chest of each unconscious scout, right above their heart and lets his magic flow, healing the injuries deeper within their bodies. One by one, each takes a deeper, less pained breath and opens their eyes.
Cassidy looks on, eyes wide with amazement as the Minstrel-Priest of Malazzarr heals each of the wounded elves.
While all of this is going on, Arthur walks through perimeter of the clearing, his eyes still scanning the woods for other threats.
Grotto walks to where Romulus and Kysek are searching the leader. "What's that you found there? Does that book give any clues to what's going on?"
Romulus pages through the remains of the book. "These are definitely maps. I am not familiar with this land's geography but there is no mistaking that this was a scouting party."
Kysek nods. "Or worse; a planned rendezvous with a gathering force? It seems lobster cove is where the landed. Perhaps if we look at this along with your map; we may be able to figure out where they were going?”
Ornforithalas frowns and looks inside the book. "Definitely scouts. See here?" He points at one of the pages, "These maps are incomplete. They were drawing them. We must return to Silvanost. The Council must be informed about these dragonmen."
