Return to Silvanost

22nd Gildember 348 AC

Shadow says “We can help move your wounded.”

“I can Teleport at least some of us to Silvanost…” Ra’ziir offers the group.

Romulus stands and stretches. "I haven't finished preparing my spells for the day. If we can wait an hour, I can ready a spell that should be able to carry all of us at once and take us directly to Lorraine's healing house."

Cedron continues tending the injured as best he can with non-magical means. Bandaging wounds and cleaning to fend off potential infection. “I will stay with the wounded until we can work out how best to transport them.” says Cedron as he works.

Grotto stays behind with Cedron and Shadow to help with the injured.

Ornforithalas instructs his remaining men to prepare the dead for transport. "I will have to inform their families of their fates when we return to Silvanost.

Kysek goes to Ornforithalas; places his hand upon his shoulder and says, “Mourn for those you have lost; yes. Also celebrate those who are returning; they are good, loyal men. They have now seen the mountainous obstacle they may have to overcome. They will need your leadership and encouragement now more than ever. You are a good man and leader. All will remember these brave men with nothing less than honor and dignity when this is over and the enemy is fully defeated and brought to answer for their atrocities.”

Raven nods, "I will go with you. I have lost many friends in battle over the years and more soldiers under my command. It never gets easier."

Arthur steps up to Raven and nods. "I too, lost many in the war of the wererats back in Lankmar, allow me to help."

Raven looks to Arthur, "Thank you, good sir." Ornforithalas nods as well, smiling sadly.

Cassidy quietly approaches Cedron. His eyes are downcast and it is possible that he has been crying. "What can I do to help? I've never been in a real battle before. I don't know what I am supposed to do now."

“War never changes, my friend. It is always horrible, and I dream of a time when it becomes unnecessary rather than unbearable. But to answer your question. Protect yourself and your comrades first and foremost. Look for those in need, and there are always those in need, and care for them. The rest will work itself out.”

Cassidy takes a deep breath and sits down next to the two fallen elves. He unpacks his mandolin and begins to play.

🎶 🎵  "Through early morning fog, I see
Visions of the things to be
The pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see" 🎵 🎶

The lyrics are softly sung, with a deep sense of melancholy and gentle strumming on the strings as Cassidy makes his way through the chorus.

🎶 🎵 "The game of life is hard to play
I′m gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I'll someday lay
So this is all I have to say" 🎵 🎶

True to his word, within the hour, Romulus has prepared the mass teleportation spell to memory. Between him, Ra'ziir, and Shadow, the three wizards instantly transport the entire company to Lorraine's house in Silvanost. Their sudden arrival startles several acolytes but within moments, the junior healers spring into action, leading the wounded inside for treatment. Lorraine appears in the door, her face ashen as she lays eyes upon the group. "By the gods, what happened?"
