Pashin - Camp of the Cloaked Mercenary

Image
09 Newkolt 349 AC The Herald's performance ran all the way up to midnight. Mercenary thugs in the employ of the Green Dragonarmy arrived shortly thereafter to extort money from the owner, Stewart Donson. Arthur, not wanting to reveal his or Agnes’s presence in the city, did not interfere, an act that sat poorly on the conscience of both travelers. Agnes took Arthur’s hand, "My Knight, my love, we are not going to waste any more time. One of your wizard friends can send our message to my people. Right now, you and I are going to get justice for Donson and everyone else being bullied by this scum!" In the blink of an eye, Agnes the elf-girl was gone, replaced by Ag'nesallynn the Silver Dragon. Arthur grips the hilt of Lawbringer, the tone of his changing, becoming more resonate, "Let's go." Arthur walks out with Agnes ready to fight. The duo takes to the air, flying low across the city, literally skimming the roofs of buildings with the dragon's le...

Yes, But... What if it was Shadowrun (Part 3)?

Image
OK, not actually Shadowrun but Earth-218 with elements of Shadowrun/Cyberpunk incorporated into sort of a neo-noir corporate dystopia on the cusp of achieving interstellar flight .  Hoverbikes have become a staple of city living with thousands plying the skylines of major metropolises from New York and Chicago to Tokyo, Delhi, and London. Commuters and couriers make extensive use of the nimble and efficient transports. Of course, like any other technology, these bikes have been modified by the military, criminals, and adventurous individuals to meet their exacting specifications.       Standard Aeris Exolvuntur Model 47 Hoverbike Crew:  1      Passengers:  1      Cargo:  5 lbs* Init:  +1      Maneuverability:  -4 Top Speed:  410 (41) in air - approx. 232 mph (flight ceiling 15,000') Defense:  10      Hardness:  5  ...

Rogo Bramblefoot

Image
I have recently joined a 2nd Edition Play-by-post Campaign as a player . The campaign I run uses 3.5e rules so there was a bit of an adjustment - at least as far as character creation went but when we got into our first fight, everything came rushing right back. Anyway, this is my character.  Rogo "the Red Checker" Bramblefoot : CG Stout/Hairfoot Halfling male Misadventurer of Brandobaris  5/Thief 6 Str: 11 Dex: 15 Con: 13 Int: 13 Wis: 14 Cha: 11 Hit Dice: 5d8 plus 6d6 (÷2) (25 hp) Armor Class:  2  (Bracers of Defensive AC6,  Cloak of Protection +2 , -2 Def adjustment) THAC0: 18 No. of Att: 1 Dmg/Att: Shortsword: 1d6 (1d8 for Large) or Dagger: 1d4 (1d3 vs Large) or Sling +2 (w/ bullet): 1d4+3 (1d6+3 vs Large) Saves: PPD: 9, RSW: 11, PP: 11, BW: 15, Sp: 13 Racial Abilities: +3 save vs. Poison and Rod/Staff/Wand, and Spells; +1 to hit with thrown weapons and slings; Surprise Opponents (-4 to opponents' Surprise rolls if 90' ahead of party/only with...

Silvanost - Five of Seven

09-14 Newkolt 349 AC AT SUMMERWALKER'S WAREHOUSE Grotto looks up from his cookbook and says to Shadow, "Your little Kender friend would have loved these dishes. This book seems to be written towards a halfling's pallet. If you are still hungry, I think I have the ingredients here and there to make this dish." Grotto says swinging the book around and pointing to a simple yet filling recipe. Grotto then walks a quick round of the hospital checking the wounded as he gathers various herbs he had his students obtain. He comes back to the corner where he has set up the makeshift bedroom where he and Shadow were reading. Grotto pulls out his alchemy lab to use as a impromptu kitchen. He makes him and Shadow a nice but filling vegetarian vegetable stew. As he is cooking he says to Shadow, "Maybe with your magic, we can communicate with that disem bodied voice from the war god's temple? Maybe find clues there? We will see what Lorraine thinks . Also, some in the co...

Cedron and Raven - Into the Marsh

Image
08 Newkolt 349 AC The frog lets out a slow ribbit followed by a "One moment" and vanishes from view. A few seconds later the drawbridge begins to rattle open. The bullywug bows to Raven and Cedron then pauses and turns his head to focus one of his large eyes on the swordsman. "Well played, Majesty. Zee Sugar Plum Fairy may be on zee outs with zee River King for stopping zee war with Riverbend but zee Witchlight Monarch has done no such theeng." This area inside of the inner bailey is much quieter, with many gray-liveried servants moving about on matters of varying importance. A large pool takes up most of the chamber, leaving only a narrow walkway around the perimeter. A stairway descends into the pool on its south side but it is guarded by some kind of ogre covered in green scales with gill slits showing on either side of its neck. The frog motions with one webbed hand and the merrow steps aside. As the pair heads down the stairs into the Court, they pass throug...

Reporting for Griffon Training

Image
09 Newkolt 349 AC AT SUMMERWALKER'S WAREHOUSE Shadow gathers Grotto’s armor and placed it in his bag of holding for safe keeping. With a nod to Romulus, the dark elf teleports back to the warehouse. It is late, well past midnight. Most of the elves he rescued alongside Ra’ziir, Kysek, and Raven are taking Reverie but a few of Lorraine's healers are circulating through the room, changing bandages or tending the fires that keep the warehouse warm. He finally finds Grotto asleep in his bedroll and gives him a nudge with his foot. "Ready for a surprise?" Grotto wakes from his slumber on his bed roll to find Shadow lurking above him. "Not tonight my friend, I have a headache. Plus, it is your turn to be bottom," quips the dwarf. Shadow lets out a quiet laugh and begins pulling pieces of armor from his bag. While he unloading the armor, Shadow will tells the dwarf about the Legend of Huma, the lances and the possibility of a tomb. Grotto is overjoyed at the ne...

Arthur and Agnes - City of Pashin

Image
08 Newkolt 349 AC Arthur looks around. "Yes, one night, preferably one with a private bathing chamber if that's possible. And something warm to eat, please." Arthur holds Agnes’s hand. "By any chance is there a potion shop in town?" The inn matron's eyes drift over to Captain Windsteed. The soldier steps forward, "I'm afraid that the potions we have are restricted to the city's defenders." "I completely understand, Captain, may I ask when was the last time you and your men had a proper feast?" The elf's brow furrows. "I suppose it would have been a week ago, at our celebration of the new year, just before the dragons attacked. Many of my men just returned from escorting our noncombatants to the capital, a six-day round trip through our forest." Arthur draws a bejeweled rod from his pack and concentrates. In less than a moment, a sumptuous feast appears on one of the inn's largwr tables. The wood groans under ...
