AT WAYRETH TOWER
Shadow takes a moment to ponder what to do next. How to find these dragonlances or the means to make them. "Did you find anything about where they were making them? What city or town? Maybe a starting point. Anyone have temples or monuments to them? Maybe we should ask the dragons?”
Romulus shakes his head. "They buried Huma in a tomb in what they call Foghaven Vale, somewhere in Southern Ergoth. It is supposed to be guarded by an entire clan of Silver Dragons but, again, I can't find anything else. It's like someone intentionally went to great lengths to make sure this information was not available."
AT SUMMERWALKER'S WAREHOUSE
"Walk with me to the warehouse, we are needed there!" Grotto says, switching from his warrior thinking into his healer thinking. While walking, Grotto tells his mentor of the things he found and shows her the horn. While showing her the horn, he puts it to his mouth and gives it a great blow to hear the sound of the war god's artifact. Veins bulge on his bald head, his eyes become bloodshot but the only sound the horn makes is a wispy sputter that leaves Grotto gasping and a little dizzy.
Once he regains his breath, he turns to Lorraine, "We will need to investigate these items closer when we are able. I will tell you more of the tomb after we tend to the injured!" Grotto hurriedly bursts through the door of the warehouse and sees Cedron and his the medical staff tending to the elves. "Cedron! I'm here to help" Grotto looks around with the eyes of a skilled doctor, mentally triaging each elf taking account of what has already been done to help each and who needs help the most. Grotto then tells his students which of the wounded to give greater focus as he begins his rounds tending to those in need.
DEPARTING THE AERIE
Before searching out the masons, the Black-Robed Bladesinger asks Kysek, “Can you inform the Council that we want to commandeer the fortified government buildings and station troops within, and that the spaces beneath the city need to be cleared and provisioned ahead of the inevitable assault we now face? I am going to speak with the masons about the same. We can reconvene at the warehouse, but we should move our operation to a more defensible position post haste.”
Kysek nods in agreement. “I will seek out those that need know our intentions. I’ll also ask for any assistance they can provide to clear and stock the tunnels. I’ll meet you back at the warehouse when I’ve finished. Perhaps we should preemptively move the wounded to the tunnels once they are clear. Doesn’t make sense to heal them only to have the already weakened and injured die in a second attack.” Kysek states as he takes his leave. The elf moves with haste to seek out the individuals we need to inform of our intentions.
A visit to Elamyar is enough to get the ball rolling on taking over the old government buildings. Ornforithalas' brother-in-law pledges his support and assigns Alara to act as Kysek's aide-de-camp.
Ra'ziir and Sergeant Falindrithan arrive at the House Mason Guildhall only to discover that it is nearly empty. The only adult in the building, and that term is best interpreted loosely, is a girl barely out of adolescence, watching over a brood of children with the help of a handful of slightly older children. She looks up, weary eyes brightening at the possibility of receiving adult reinforcements.
Ra’ziir looks to the girl “Are there no elders here, child?” Assuming the worst he turns the sergeant, “It seems we will need to take action on our own. Surely there are others in need..," he says gesturing to the children.
Then back to the girl “I am Ra’ziir, and this is Sgt. Falindrithan… we are going to help. But first, what can you tell us of the guildhall and its members?”
The girl, her shoulders straightening as she realizes Ra'ziir might be here to bail her out, leans forward in her chair. "Pretty much every able-bodied member has been out in the streets since the dragons attacked a week ago, you know, rebuilding as much as they can? Most are working on the city wall but there are some working with the Shapers to rebuild houses."
"And you have been left to watch over the children… Okay. Have you food, water? Are they any injured or ill?”
The girl looks back at the smaller children and sighs, "No. They're all pretty much healthy - just a little bored and upset that their parents are working and won't be be back to pick them up until later tonight.:
Raz looks around for any sign of injuries, just to be sure, and looks to see that they have some sort of supplies, it looks like fruits, nuts, and cheeses, are plentiful, as well as water and cider. In all, if you exclude this girl who has been left in charge, there are about thirty children, varying in age from toddler to early adolescent, most skewing towards the younger end of that scale.
Ra’ziir asks the girl’s name and learns that she is called Serenel. He then explains that, given they are as safe as they are likely to be and they seem well enough, he and the sergeant are going to continue seeking out the Masons.
“We will be sure to check back in on you… stay safe and know that what you are doing is important.”
The Bladesinger smiles at the girl and rests a hand on her shoulder, “Stay strong, Serenel. These kids need you right now.”
As the two elves leave House Mason's temporary day care, Falindrithan takes his leave, returning to the warehouse to provide Ra'ziir's troops with their orders - find volunteers to clear out the tunnels in the government buildings.
Ra’ziir sees the sergeant off, telling him, “I’ll be along directly…”
He then has a thought and heads back in to speak to the girl. He asks if she knows where the guild offices are located. She indicates that this is normally an office but given the current demand, it is serving as a place for Mason children to be while parents are working. Serenel informs that while there are some reference materials on recent projects available, which she is somehow supposed to study while supervising all of these children, older plans are kept by House Recorder.
Serenel also informs him that there are any number of work crews, mostly operating near the city's west wall, with senior masters and journeymen who could also help him.
Meanwhile, Alara gets started on the list of tasks Kysek has given her. The first place so goes is the the archives to see who is responsible for the buildings in question.
After a few hours, she has determined that nearly all of the structures are being cared for by House Servitor on behalf of House Royal.
By then, Kysek has returned to the warehouse, spoken with Lorraine, amd Grotto and informed them of the help we may receive and the possibility of acquiring more defensible accommodations.
The Interim Councilor seeks out some food, sends Bubo off to hunt and instructs him to return when complete. He then ensures to study and and enter reverie as he’s certain the griffon training the next day will likely be intense.
