Using the table presented in d20 Future and an Inflation adjuster I found on the internet, the Robot cost $6480. Adjusted for inflation, this comes out to $11,097 (not a bad estimate for a book that's 21-years old).

Using the Flame-Throwing Robot Dog in Your Campaign: 

The creature could be included as a guardian in an Artificer's laboratory or as an additional protection for the crashed spaceship in "Expedition to the Barrier Peaks".
