Zombie Mosh
Zombie Mosh... a thrift store find that set me back all of $7.99 plus tax. I will admit that I bought it mostly because of the Eddie-esque art featured on the packaging.
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know that I plan on incorporating ALL of the games from my collection into my current campaign.
I have considered using Zombie Mosh in a few different ways. My first (and so far, favorite) thought was to adapt the Undead Rockers into an "All Flesh Must Be Eaten" format with the characters (Vivian "Rick" Neil, Willie Joe Armwrong, Jenny Killmeister, Maxxx Brakes, Courtney Strangelove, and Stephen Dyler) appearing as NPCs.
In this version, the zombies are members of a Heavy Metal band made up a grizzled road-weary veterans who have seen their star fade to the point of even their most die-hard fans thinking that they have retired. "The Label" has brought in new blood to revitalize the sound, enabling record executives to cash in on name recognition. The move results in a resurgence of popularity.
Then everything goes wrong.
Following a concert in Louisville, the tour bus plummeted into a ravine where barrels of 2-4-5 Trioxin had been improperly disposed of. The highly toxic gas killed the band but they rose from the dead as "zombies" (more accurately, as ghouls) who continue to record new music (which of course critics love because of the "pained, raw hunger" inherent in these new recordings). The band members prey upon transients in the cities they pass through but come to the attention of the Player Characters after the body of a victim is discovered by hikers (it's always hikers who find bodies after all).
As a final thought, a troupe of bards could fall victim to some curse that transforms them into undead monsters, but maybe only from midnight to sunrise. They may even be unaware of their actions while changed into zombified versions of themselves.
