Grotto and the Elf Prince, Arthur and Agnes in Flight, Leaving for Faerie, and Griffon Riders

Note: The Temple of Kiri-Jolith is based on "The Ghost Blade" from the 3rd edition Dragonlance Campaign Setting Sourcebook, modified for level and to fit the plot of our current campaign.

AT THE ABANDONED TEMPLE OF KIRI-JOLITH

Grotto is surprised to see such a well preserved body. "Looks a lot like the elf in the murals" Grotto thinks. "Surely he could not have been in this temple for this long and be so well preserved!" Grotto thinks the elf is in some sort of suspended animation. He examined the elf with his knowledge of healing to see if he can find any signs of life.

After confirming that the elf is indeed dead, Grotto says a prayer to Hanseath to the fallen warrior. He then searches the body for anything of value.

EN ROUTE TO THE DRAGON ISLES

"How are you holding up Lady Agnes? Do you require a break?" He speaks in a caring yet worried voice.

"I will be good for several more hours, My Knight. I hope to be in Pashin two sunrises from now."

IN COUNCILOR SUMMERWALKER'S WAREHOUSE ~ NOW SERVING AS RA'ZIIR/SHADOW/KYSEK'S COMMAND CENTER

Shadow and Spewer wish Raven and Cedron well before retiring to rest in the Elven way to recharge his spells. Once the dark elf has completed his spells, he seeks out Ra’ziir and Kysek to see what they have uncovered before telling them of his plan to locate the wounded dragon by scrying on it.

Raven places a hand on Cedron’s shoulder. "Cedron, thank you for coming with me. My place is on the battlefield, I have no talent for politics or the scheming of fey. So, the sooner we leave, the better. There is no telling what Ellessandra is doing to our companions even as we speak."

“Then time is wasting. Let us leave as soon as you’re ready," Cedron replies.

"Place your hand upon my shoulder. Do not let go." Raven closes his eyes and concentrates, a sour pit already forming in his stomach as he thinks about where he must go. There feels a sudden lurch, and then the air smells sweeter, more crisp against his skin. He opens his eyes and groans. Standing before him is a two-story log cabin. Smoke pours merrily from its chimney of fitted stone. Trees, hundreds beyond counting stand in orderly rows, forming a path leading to the front stairs. A thin blanket of snow covers the frozen ground.

Ra’ziir’s attention is piqued by the mention of Griffon Riders, “And what of them now? Are there any left, do we know? And if not, might you know where they wrangled the griffons they did have?”

Sergeant Falindrithan scratches his chin, "I don't know for sure. I think they had eight, or, maybe ten. Here in Silvanost, we've got thirty-four. There are stables at the north end of the city. Commander Terinani is in charge of them."

The Bladesinger shares his affinity for the noble beasts, as well as the Guild of the Griffon he founded back in Evereska. “I would very much like to see these griffons of Silvanost… and whomever has skill to work with them.”

His sergeant nods, "Yes, sir. I can take you there. I have a second cousin who is a saddler. He should be able to introduce us to whomever it is we need."

He goes on to explore the idea of forming a contingent of Griffon Riders made up of the three squads led by Shadow, Kysek, and himself. “I am experienced and might be able to teach those who are not enough to pose a greater threat from the air.”

AT THE COUNCIL HALL

Kysek wills his attire to appear somewhat more appropriate for the occasion. His clothing shifts from his normal appearance to that of a more formal tunic, pants, and cloak. He meets the extended hand with his own. “Well met Lord Commander; while I appreciate the introduction given, know first and foremost without my comrades our outcomes may well have been different. We fight as a team; the same as yourself and those you command. Everyone plays their part, and the results show it. You say you have available griffons? My companions and I may be interested in this as it could free our spell casters of having to cast unnecessary spells? Have you seen any other dragons aside from green? From my observation; green seems to be the most prevalent. While I’ve seen reds and blues, green has been more common. This may be something we should look into amongst all those on the ground. If this holds true; we must protect our forces from their breath first and foremost!”

Commander Terinani nods, "The greens are by far the most numerous. It is my belief that the Dragonarmies wish to take Silvanesti intact. Lightning bolts and flaming breath tend to start fires, leaving little to add to their war chests. But as far as the Griffon Wings go, we are at a loss for experienced riders, so if you have interest in the position, I can arrange for you to attend our training program."

Elamyar, who has been standing nearby throughout the conversation chimes in, "I do not know if there are enough mages available with the proficiency in spellwork required, but a simple Wind Wall spell would serve to turn aside the poisonous gas of the green dragons and should also be effective against a red dragon's fire breath."
