The Crossover I Didn’t Know I Needed

I was going through some old posts last night and struck upon an idea.

Birds Aren't Real + Lawyer Dog + Magic Pickle + Superhuman Registration Act = one crazy adventure seed

Hicksville - while patrolling the city, searching for signs of the Brotherhood of Evil Produce, Weapon Kosher comes across a glitching Pigeon-bot that is attacking a random citizen. The Magic Pickle intervenes but is arrested for not being registered with the 50-State Initiative.

Lawyer Dog is appointed as his defense attorney.

Tarithnesti - Morning Comes to the Forest

07 Deepkolt 349 AC AT THE OTHER FARMHOUSE Kysek floats above the trees, his eyes trained to the east, scanning the forest and the river. He calculates the distance back to Tarithnesti - just over an hour on griffonback. It would have to do. He sends a message to Romulus telling him of his intention; he says, “Enemies coming, heading to assist Ornforithalas; they’re going to need it based on my search.” "Understood," the halfling replies, "I'll have the troops form up and we will be there as fast as we can." Dusk arrives a minute later, her keen eyes picking out her master's form above the treetops. She swoops down and he swings into the saddle with practiced ease. The elf point her toward the city and gives her the lead as he threads and buckles the straps that will keep him in place during combat. The pair fly north and east, racing toward the elven city. 30 Newkolt 349 AC Ra’ziir settles Redclaw into one of the impromptu stalls, “I’ll try to find some snacks, my friend…” he says as he unsaddles and brushes the griffon. “I am going to need to see a map and have your scouts show us where they saw the army encampment. And a description of what they encountered as numbers of goblins, worgs and, Heaven forbid, hobgoblins." Shadow grins, "We can go out tonight and snatch a goblin or two to get some insight into what we are up against. Then the real fun begins. I've got a plan to even the odds a bit before our friends get here.” The Bladesinger will confer with the others, agreeing that striking out against the enemy targets as soon as possible is a priority, but emphasizes the need for a coordinated plan. “What do we know so far? Romulus‘s Test of High Sorcery - Day One

05 Gildember 348 AC (05 Marpenoth 1342 DR) Menathradon nods to Ra’ziir and motions for him to join Romulus and Shadow. He asks the group to join hands in a ring. A moment later, each individual member of the group finds themselves alone at the edge of a forest. The autumn air is damp and smells of rain. No leaves remain on the skeletal branches of the dead trees as they reach for the sky. A low fog curls around the adventurers' feet and boughs. The smell of decay is thick in the air, leaving a greasy feel inside of your noses and a foul taste in your mouths. Despite over a decade spent on the road, facing dangers of every sort, a chill runs down your spine and goosebumps rise along your arms. In the far distance, a pair of black towers, illuminated from within by a sickly blue light stands, looming over the treetops. A narrow, rutted road leads into the dark forest. Moving forward, the formerly dead forest transforms, becoming full of life with vibrant green leaves, ferns, grasses...

The Risen

The Risen are a trio of ghasts I made based on gladiators from the Junkyard Fights level of Champions of Norrath - Return to Arms for the PS2.  I dropped them into Sigil where I planned on having them appear as pit fighters in the underground ring beneath the Bottle and Jug tavern in the Hive Ward.  I figured they would make a good challenge for a player character who had left the party after crossing the Loomslag Peaks and subsequently found his way to the City of Doors. I playtested the fight and the barbarian, though hard-pressed, won three fights in a row.  I felt confident that this would be a great and memorable encounter to introduce the player to this grand metropolitan city in the Outer Planes. I could not have been more wrong.  On the night of the adventure, the player was simply cursed with bad dice rolls and I couldn't stop rolling "20"s.  By the time the battle was over, one ghast lay dead, killed by the 15th level PC Barbarian/Fighte...

Tarithnesti - Battle of the Farmhouse

07 Deepkolt 349 AC AT THE OTHER FARMHOUSE As Kysek sends Bubo ahead; he instructs his raptor companion to search the left and right sides of the tracks the enemies left as they came in and to report anything out of the ordinary. Kysek himself follows the tracks as they lie. He stays silent and unseen as he moves forward. He goes out approximately a quarter-mile, searching for any signs of reinforcements following behind the initial attackers. He searches the ground and keeps an eye to the skies as well. The pair finds plenty of tracks and follows them back toward where they came from. They eventually reach the Thon-Thalus River where they locate three rowboats pulled up onto the shore. Bubo flies to the far bank and looks around. There are dozens, if not hundreds of footprints in the mud and melted snow going in numerous directions. Kysek sends a message to Romulus; “There are more! Prepare! Release Dusk! I’ll meet her in the tree tops!” He instructs Bubo to circle and find any signs...
