I was going through some old posts last night and struck upon an idea.

Birds Aren't Real + Lawyer Dog + Magic Pickle + Superhuman Registration Act = one crazy adventure seed

Hicksville - while patrolling the city, searching for signs of the Brotherhood of Evil Produce, Weapon Kosher comes across a glitching Pigeon-bot that is attacking a random citizen. The Magic Pickle intervenes but is arrested for not being registered with the 50-State Initiative.

Lawyer Dog is appointed as his defense attorney.

He slips silently inside, checking every corner, every nook for an enemy who ducked inside to escape the slaughter outside. Once he knows it's safe, he leads her inside. Stamford, CT - the New Warriors, while filming an episode for their reality-TV show, attempt to apprehend a group of supervillains. A battle erupts and one of those villains, Nitro, uses his self-detonation power and blows himself up. The blast ignites a gas main and several city blocks are destroyed. 612 civilians, including 60 children in an elementary school are killed. This event leads to the creation of the Superhuman Registration Act and the subsequent creation of the 50-State Initiative - a program where each state would be assigned a team of state-sponsored superheroes. While the SRA was eventually repealed, the Initiative teams are gradually being activated. Note #1: In Marvel Comics (Earth-616) canon, the Spaceknights are the Initiative team for Illinois. They have no "on-screen" appearances. During that time, Davaa and Altan keep a surreptitious watch on the gates of Ak-Baral, keeping tabs on who is coming to and leaving from the city. Neither of them notice anyone who stands out. A troupe of merchants depart, bound for the southern settlements. A different group of riders leaves the next day, headed east. Two groups of Khurs arrive about three days apart, looking to trade in the city market. Altan sells his and Davaa's horses and acquires a pair of camels, telling Arthur that they are ready to leave when he is.
