Road Trip to the Dragon Isles - The Cactus Forest

02 Deepkolt 349 AC It takes about an hour for the storm to completely die. Arthur and the others are on their way within half that time. As sand settles back to the ground around the wizards' tower, the party makes its way north. Loose and shifting dunes gradually become hard-baked rock and dirt. The group makes good time. Arthur leads the way on Nightrend, with Agnes, Granite, Davaa, and Altan following on camelback. Phineas moves smoothly along, his Across-the-Plains-inator, chugging away with a constant whir that sounds like a fly trapped inside a tent flap. Nightrend hates it, moving away several steps to the side every time Phineas gets close to it, which amuses Agnes every time it happens. The camels don't care. Granite announces that their little caravan should reach the Cactus Forest by nightfall. Arthur chuckles and pets Nightrend's neck. "How's everyone holding up?" 07 Deepkolt 349 AC EN ROUTE TO TARITHNESTI Kysek continues as planned. He concentrates upon his raptor familiar and tells Bubo to continue to relay what he sees; hoping to better formulate a plan prior to his arrival. He continues to guide Dusk through the treetops and under the canopy for concealment as his mind sifts through Bubo's information and runs down the spells he has remaining. His world narrows to two wildly different views. Below, he can feel the rise and fall of Dusk's wings, he can hear the whistling of the wind as the griffon skims the treetops. He smell the tang of pine tar from the forest and the new leather of his saddle and harness. He closes his eyes, trusting his steed to carry him where he needs to go and focuses on what Bubo can see. It's like looking through a tunnel. Everything close by is a hazy blur cast in shades of gray, black, and white. Each of the Pigs is a variation on one of the Three Stooges with the Wolfman destroying their houses, one after another. Episode 4 - It Came from Beneath the Bleachers ; an ancient spirit possesses a high school football mascot costume and begins slaying the "popular kids" in increasingly comical and outlandish ways. Episode 5 - Laser Lobster vs. the Subterranean Horde , a cold war experiment is Maine's last defense against Mole-folk invading from the depths of the earth. Like the other posts in what has become something of a series , this is not actually Shadowrun but relies on tropes from the setting for my home campaign.  - - - - - The music in the ballroom pulsed like a living thing—deep, synthetic techno-bass threaded through with something almost orchestral, as if the past were being politely strangled by the future. Light cascaded from the chandeliers, reflecting against chrome limbs, subdermal implants, and cybernetic eyes that glowed faintly. Raven stood at the edge of it all, a still point in a sea of motion. The tuxedo, delivered to his rented room just hours earlier, along with an invitation that implied an offer of employment, fit him as though it had been tailored by magic rather than machine. Western Heroes Card Game

I found this at an Antique Shop while working today. The directions on the back of the box give me the impression that this game is basically "Go Fish" but you need four cards instead of two and different heroes have different point values. Included in the deck are: Annie Oakley (1 point) Calamity Jane (1 point) Wild Bill Hickok (1 point) Bat Masterson (2 points) Clay Hollister (2 points) Jim Bowie (2 points) Pat Garret (2 points) Kit Carson (3 points) Matt Wayne (3 points) Wyatt Earp (4 points) Buffalo Bill (5 points) The fact that both both female characters are each only worth one point is probably a sign of the times (game is from the 1950s) What bothered me was that I didn't recognize two of the name (Clay Hollister and Matt Wayne). Day Four of The Odinsleep (The Battle Begins)

Now, before we get started, there IS a third map that I am not showing here.  Cedron, Ra'ziir, and Shadow all have the ability to see invisible creatures (Cedron with his True Seeing spell and Raz and Shadow with the permanent spell ability so their players are receiving maps that show the locations of the enemies while the rest of the group is "shooting blind" as it were - instead, using the "grid" running along the top and side of the map, they will target squares with spells/ranged attacks/etc). Day Four of the Odinsleep (Noon- 5pm) Korbin allows the Norns to continue feeding him.  He closes his eyes, exhausted from the ordeal and sleeps deeply, unaware of the changes that are happening to him. - - - - - - - - - - At Cedron’s warning, nearly everyone leaps into action.  The priest’s prayer has enabled him to see the approaching dark elves but  Ra’ziir and Shadow have permanent spells in effect that reveal the enemy as well.  The bladsinger shouts out “...
