Balifor Bay - Drinking and Raven’s Info Dump
21 Gildember 348 AC
He knows that there are both arcane and divine spells that specifically allow for the manipulation of weather and several spells that allow for charming and dominating creatures - and that doesn't even include spells that summon or bind beasts to the caster's will.
Shadow will complete his studies and produce a bottle of wine from his bag of holding. “Nothing fancy just something I grabbed off a table somewhere along the way.” He takes a pull and passes it to Cassidy and then to the others that will.
Ornforithalas' eyes widen, "Are you sure that giving the Kender wine is the best idea?"
Cassidy's wide grin threatens to swallow his ears. "Don't worry, Ornie. I, unlike some people, can hold my liquor." He eagerly takes a pull from the bottle, passes it to the next person in line and begins to sing.
" 🎶 🎵 Red, red wi-i-ine, go to my head. Make me forget that I still need her so-o-o.
Red, red wine, it's up to you-o, All I can do, I've done, but memories won't go, no, memories won't go-o... 🎵 🎶"
Cedron listens intently to Cassidy, practicing perhaps the most important skill of any artist, observation, taking mental notes of the nuances.
Grotto takes a sip of wine as the bottle gets passed his way! "Pilfered wines! My favorite Vinyard!" Grotto laughs and smiles toward Shadow. "Are you trying to get your wee companion tipsy to join you in your hut?" Grotto lets out a mighty laugh, giving a good natured ribbing to his friend.
Grotto passes the bottle to Kysek and asks him what he thinks could be the cause of the weather outbreak.
Arthur puts the book down for a bit his head hurting from attempting to read more of it "damn moving words" he mutters to himself.
Even after he closes the cover, the First Paladin of Malazzarr can "hear" the words from the book repeating themselves in his head. He pinches the bridge of his nose, forcing his mind to impose order on the jumble in his brain and suddenly, everything becomes clear... Agni, a god of fire keeps a realm in Limbo, as do Indra and Susanowo, both storm gods of their respective pantheons.
"I get it now" Arthur says without realizing he has spoken aloud. He mutters to himself "Does this imply that Limbo can connect different worlds in the same way as the trees we are planting... and if so could this possibly be used in our favor?"

Meanwhile, in Alinosti...
Ra’ziir smiles from beneath his black hood, “Indeed my old friend, a drink is in order.” The Bladesinger joins Raven as the make their way to the Otter’s Bed. “I’m curious to hear about your time away. Where did you say you ended up?” He asks as the enter the establishment.
Raven sighs. "At first, I thought I was just losing track of time - or maybe seeing things - hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep." He signals Oloblar to order a pair of drinks. After they are delivered, he continues. "The first time, I found myself at a carnival. I walked around, played some sideshow games and ended up helping the strongman propose to one of the trapeze artists. They declared me the Carnival King. I thought nothing of it at the time."
He orders a second drink. "A short while later, I was out in the courtyard at Lorraine's and passed out. I woke up at a castle during what they called the Feast of Fealty being held by...," Raven takes another drink, "the Sugar Plum Fairy. She was a right sadistic beast of a woman. Anyway, the feast was attacked and she was kidnapped. The faeries pressed me into service to track her down. I would have been content to let her get whatever she had coming but, against my better judgment, I agreed. I tracked her down, killed most of her captors, the whole deal. Turns out, I missed one. And that one, that damned one, ran her through from behind. There was a strange surge of energy but I slew her killer and took Sugar Plum back to her castle. I thought that was the end of it. I was wrong. Turns out that the whole Carnival King wasn't an empty title. It was an actual position in the weird faerie hierarchy. It also meant that when the Sugar Plum Fairy died, her power and authority passed to the nearest fey vessel - me."
Ra'ziir waits patiently and after about a minute, Raven continues. "This last time, I found myself in a village. The miller, Froderick was suspected of killing her. I found a portal to Faerie at the bottom of the mill pond."
"Not long after, I arrived at the Court of the Birch Queen. She told me that a Sidhe lord named Flax and the hag, Jenny Greenteeth were stirring up sentiment against mortals in the River King's court. Flax claimed to have a right of sovereignty over Riverbend and was garnering support for an attack on the town to claim what was rightfully his. Then, the wife, Ellessandra, showed up and asked that I go back and tell her husband to stop searching for her. After she had been attacked, Ellessandra fled through the portal in the mill pond, arrived in Faerie and gave birth to a son who turned out to this Lord Flax. I went to the River King's palace and ended up dueling Jenny Greenteeth. I talked the River King out of supporting Flax. The River King told me that Flax was about to attack his father's village. I caught up to him and told him that the king had called off the invasion. He attacked me. I gave him the chance to surrender but he wouldn't stop so I had to kill him."
"Ellessandra gave me her wedding ring and a letter to clear her husband's name and he was released from the local stockade and now I'm here."
Oloblar brings another round of drinks and some fish stew. "I wasn't trying to drop no eaves, but I couldn't help but overhear and I have to say that I don't see any side upon which you are not entirely $%&@ed".
Raven nods. "You are not wrong. But, I have learned that I can do this." Raven extends his left hand and opens his fingers, palm toward the ground. He closes his eyes and holds out his right, balled into a fist. When he opens it, a small pile of hard candies appears. "Try one. They are absolutely delicious."
”That’s quite the tale Black Bird. I can’t say that the adventures here have quite so grandiose, but we did kill to gigantic lobsters that attacked from the surf.” Ra’ziir goes on to share the details of what Raven has missed and bring him up to speed on the party’s current objective.
“So, now we’re tracking very large lizardfolk, it seems.”
Raven shakes his head, "The lizardfolk thing makes no sense. There must be something we're missing."
