The Republic of Saradia Splits from Saudi Arabia (1935 Gregorian calendar)

On Earth-218, General Hassan ibn Chohallah seizes control of the eastern third of Saudi Arabia and secedes from the rest of the kingdom following the discovery of vast untapped oil reserves. He names his new country the Republic of Saradia. Well placed bribes and other "gifts" made to neighboring powers lead to support on the international stage.


Progressive policies of religious and gender-based equality, as well as deals made with both Germany and Tokyo create an influx of military advances in the years leading up to World War II. Despite being relatively small, Saradia soon boasts the most technologically superior army and air force in the Mideast.

It's current ruler (2012) is King Mohammed ibn Abdullah ibn Ali. He is also the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of Saradia's military forces. While relatively small, the Army amd Air Force boast advanced technology. The nation is also a world leader in regards to biotechnology. A cadre of Special Forces soldiers have volunteered for bio-enhancement experiments.

I am a Year-Round Shorts Guy. I hate wearing pants. When the mercury in the thermometer starts to travel upwards of 50°F, I start to sweat. If I am not working or attending a more "formal" event like a wedding, I will be in shorts. But this week, the low temperatures were between -25° and -29°F and that was beyond my ability to tolerate for more than just a few minutes at a time. 09 Hiddumont 348 AC (1351 DR) Knives decides hunting Goblins is a job for tomorrow. Knives glances around the tavern to see if there are any attractive ladies without the burden of male companions. He tries to strike up a conversation with a few different women but each time, he is met with polite indifference. One of the women snootily tells the thief-acrobat that she wouldn't sully herself to lay with a human before taking her drink and walking away. Upon hearing there are goblins near and causing trouble, Grotto becomes very agitated. "They must all die and suffer. We must exterminate this vermin. Hanseath will be overjoyed that I spill the blood of these animals. Let us hunt these Goblins!" Grotto says to Knives. The West Canyon Campaign

The West Canyon Chronicles Last spring, while working on a way to incorporate Boot Hill into my play-by-post fantasy campaign, I started bouncing story ideas around for a crossover.   I was also looking at tourist-y things to do with my kids when they came out to visit for the summer and I learned that the area I was living in was rife with possibilities for a mixed supernatural and historically-themed Wild West campaign with mystery and adventure around every bend.   I used the basic geography of the region (Spanish Fork Canyon) as the basis for the setting, converted the town of Glister into Cactus Brush, and used the old Boot Hill modules Mad Mesa, Ballots and Bullets, and Burned Bush Wells as a starting point.   As I began to write, ideas literally flowed through me.   I wanted more than the standard Western setting that Boot Hill reflected and began incorporating horror elements with a little bit of Deadlands and Fistful of Zombies thro...

One Month after the Summer Solstice (Seventh Moon 1000 ALB) / Day Five of the Odinsleep (12:06 pm)  The arrival of Thor and Hildr and the threat levied by the Thunder God are enough to make Loki back off.  Niklas, not entirely believing the sudden reversal of fortune, stares intently at the newcomers and at Loki, searching for out-of-place details that may indicate some sort of illusion or trickery.  Raven scowls, annoyed by the rescue but sheaths his swords and walks over to Drax. He looks at Ra’ziir and mutters, "Just like Algar back in the Sunless City after we defeated the Great Shaboath.  The bladesinger nods curtly before using one of his most potent spells to restore Drax to flesh and bone.   Shadow beams at the Valkyrie before turning to Spewer , "I think I am in love."  “By the gods…” Ced says in awe as a gasp of words escapes. The Three Dogs

I didn’t plan on including the Three Dogs in my original campaign.   The main antagonists has already been defeated by the player characters once, so I decided that I needed to introduce another sets of opponents for Knives and Chronosaj as they made their way to Jack’s Castle.   There was already an angry mob and it made sense that a posse would form to pursue the now-fugitive adventurers and dogs seemed like a natural addition.   I Googled “Fairy Tale Dogs” and found the Three Dog story  (summarized below so you don't actually HAVE to follow the link), read through it and realized that Hound Archons would be a perfect fit.   Being creatures of the Upper Planes, I thought it would be cool to have them speak with “Thee, Thou, and Thy” but my wife suggested I add a little bit of “ doggo-speak ” given the whole canine aspect of these “Goodest Bois” and an amalgam of both language types was born.   Then, I borrowed a page from “Thor” comics and gave them ...
